Patience

Have patience in all you do,
Patience is hard and something not to be trifled with.
If you have no patience, you will get nowhere.
Sometimes it comes when you least expect it,
other times you are faced with it all the time.

Try to be kind and understanding,
Like a dog who is man’s best friend.
He will wait for hours, days, weeks, years,
For his master to arrive, and then he is happy.
Love those whom you never see,
Know that when the time comes they will return.

Return from far away places.
Some places of evil, some good,
Some fun, and some boring.
These places all teach a lesson,
A lesson in waiting, learning, helping.

Patience is gentle, kind, caring,
It helps you get along with those around you.
Patience is a virtue.
Seeing the rainbow of colors filling up my view,
Showing me the fruits of waiting,
Of being a friend to those in need.

Let patience guide you when dealing with difficult situations.
Let it be like a light at the end of a tunnel,
Knowing that there is a plan,
And that I will find that plan,
Even when I am unable to see the light yet.

Keep your eyes on God.
Have patience in all you do.
Know that God is with you in all you do.
Also, know that God will watch over and protect you,
Even when you have no patience,
And don’t want to wait on Him.

Know that He loves us,
All the days of our lives.
It matters not where we are,
God will wait patiently for us forever.
The God who is forever!

I wrote this poem for a class that i have been taking in college. It is something that really speaks to me because i don't have much patience, and it is helping me to remember that patience is something that i really need if i am gonna get anywhere.

Sometimes it is hard to be patient, and to let God do all of the work, and to remember that He is here with me. It can be disappointing for me realize that I can't do everything myself. Even though this is disappointing, it makes me feel much better when i find that God is there helping me through all my stressful times. At times i can't see or feel Him, but then somebody says something or does something for me and it helps to remind me that He is here, even though i can't feel or see or hear Him at the moment.

More thoughts

I was sitting in one of my classes today, and instead of paying attention to what my Professor was talking about, well, i did pay attention, cause i took notes, i was writing some of my thoughts on a piece of paper that i tore out of my notebook. What started these thoughts was that one of my friends is stuggling and i really wanted to hug them and let them know that they are loved. But of course, i couldn't, expecially when you are in class with 40 other students. Well, this is basically where my thoughts took me.

Sometimes I feel like I can't talk to anybody. Even though lately i have found it easier to talk to people who are not in my normal circle of friends. I feel like they actually listen to what i am saying, even though others aren't. My friends have been making me feel like i am not important, and that sometimes my life is a waste of time. Why i think this can be beyond me sometimes. This makes me want to concentrate on God a lot more because i know that God cares about what happens to me. No matter how down i feel, or how badly i feel about various things, i know that i can always turn to God.
God is sooooo amazing. He loves me no matter what happens or how bad i feel about myself and my life. I love Him with all of my heart, all of my mind, and with all of my soul. Don't get me wrong, i do question God a lot. This is because i don't understand why all these terrible things happen or why He allows struggling to happen. I personally believe that when we struggle we are better able to get closer to God, and He is better able to work in our lives, whether through another person helping is or praying for us, or just through us praying, and falling on our knees before Him.
There have been many times that something happens and i have yelled at God. Usually i ask him why? Why God? Why do i feel this way? Why do I have to go through this intense loneliness, this pain, this feeling of loss? I have no answers, and i never will, not because God is not talking to me, it is because i can't understand what God is thinking. But when I am stuggling a lot, i start to turn to my Bible, and read His word, and see what He is saying to me in there. One verse that i cling to on a daily basis is Philippian 4:13-"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." It may be very hard to deal with my problems on my own, but with God in my life, I can do and make it through everything that he throws at me. I just lean on God, and pray for strength to face the day, and to also be a friend to those in need.
I have learned many lessons in the past couple of years, and the biggest one of these is that we have to trust God in everything, because there are a lot of different things that we can't defeat on our own. One of these things is depression. Yes there are drugs, and other treatments, but i have found the most effective way to get ride of depression is to give it all over to God. Tell him that you are sick of it, you are done with it. Ask Him forgiveness, and ask Him to bless you and watch over you, even though you do stuggle. I turned over my depression to God a couple of years ago, and my life is now very amazing. Since that day i have never had depression, and i know that God took it away because i feel amazing and God's joy is inside of my heart. And His joy is what helps me to get through everyday because there is no such thing as blackness in my soul anymore. His joy is a light that shines out of everybody, and helps to bring happiness to people around you.

Deuteronomy 6:5
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength."

Thoughts

Sometimes I am sitting around in my room and wondering why God allows things to happen. God is amazing and sometimes I wonder why He allows us to be hurt, and lets us go through these hard issues in our lives.

Lately I have been struggling with a lot of issues and have been finding out that i have been not relying on God like I should. When things are getting out of hand, I need to remember that if I rely on God, He will help me to get through things.

Last year, i found out that when i struggled with lots of things, i am better able to get to know God, and to find out what He is saying. One thing that I have found hard to do, is to sit still and in quiet and to listen to whatever God is saying. How do we listen quietly, and clear everything out of our minds so that we can listen? How do we know that it was God talking to us and not just us trying to be cool and make it sound like He talked to us?

I don't have answers to these questions, but I do know that God is here. I had this awesome experience last semester. I was being quiet and crying out to God, asking why, and he gave me some Bible verses. The one that i remember is James 1:5-6--"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." This has helped to remind me that I can ask God anything and He will answer my prayers. It doesn't matter if He answers it yes or no, He will answer, and this is amazing to me. It makes me feel special, and it helps me to not doubt what happens.

I have grown closer to God in last few months because I have had to rely on Him a lot more because I have felt like my friends have let me down. They can't make me feel as good as God does! God is always there for me, even though I can't see Him. There have been times that I have felt His arms around me, just holding me and allowing me to be loved unconditionally. This love is amazing!

I will leave you with this following verse: 1 John 4:7-12

7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son[
b] into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for[c] our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
